November 2008 Golf Newsletter
By Herb Hurley PGA Head Golf Professional

Just a reminder that we will start over seeding on November 4th and continue for three weeks with one nine holes closed each week.
I would like to take a brief moment to say thank you to Mr. Joe Fasbach, Mr. Jack Keene, and the rest of the Member Guest committee.  The event was a huge success.  This event would be very hard to run without the dedication of the committee.  Once again I give you a heartfelt thank you.  If anyone is interested in being the chairperson for the 2009 Member Guest please feel free to come by and talk to me or I can get you in touch with Joe Fasbach to let you know what is needed of the committee.
With November upon us we will be back open for golf on Mondays unless we have a golf tournament scheduled.  The pro shop will be open from 7:00AM till 2:00PM.  The only restrictions on Mondays are that if you wish to rent a cart you must be on the golf course by 2:00PM.  Please check the calendar to see which Monday’s have golf tournaments.
I would like to welcome back all of our friends from the north.  With that said please remember that golf course is getting busier so please call first before you just show up at the course.
In November we have a couple of great events planned.  Our Annual Ladies’ Dual Ryder Cup Golf Tournament against Southern Woods will be played at Southern Woods on the Saturday the 15th, Tuesday the 18th, and Friday the 21st.  Come on out Ladies and help Sugarmill Woods win the cup!!!  We will then be holding our Annual Glow Ball Golf Tournament on Friday November 14th.  The Glow Ball event will consist of nine holes at 3:00PM followed by dinner, then our second nine holes will be played in the dark.  If you haven’t played in a glow ball event before you are missing out.  Please check the pro shop to sign up or for more details.
A couple of member favorites will also be starting up in November.  The Sunsetters’ Nine-hole mixer and dinner will be on November 8th and Mr. & Mrs. Englebrecht’s Sunday Couples group will be on November 16th.  I am looking for a couple of couples that would be willing to run the Sunsetters’.  It is very easy.  If you are interested please stop by the shop and see me.
I would to take a quick moment to recognize a few nice shots since my last newsletter.  On August 29, 2008, Mr. Minard Mumaw had an Eagle on Pine #5.  On September 23, 2008, Mrs. Barbara Jones Birdied Oak #6.  Finally, last but not least on September 26, 2008, Mrs. Tracie Stesiak had a Hole in One on Oak #3.  Congratulations to all.
Please be advised that all golf tournament sponsor certificates that have expiration dates prior to January 1, 2009 have until December 31,2008 to utilize these certificates.  Such certificates will be null and void after December 31, 2008 and will not be honored for golf play.  Certificates that terminate on or after January 1, 2009 will be honored in accordance with the stated terms of the certificate.
Please remember that on Thanksgiving the golf course will be closed.
