It’s so nice to see the return of so many of you that have been transient over the last several months. All of the Members and Staff that stay here and “survived the summer” are delighted to see you and we welcome you back to Southern Woods Golf Club. The golf course is in excellent condition as we head into over seeding and this will prove beneficial toward being able to provide the best possible golf course conditions through the winter months.
As an overview of the Club’s restaurant, lunch will continue to be served Tuesday’s through Sunday’s 11am-3pm and happy hour will continue to be offered  3-5pm. The Club will also be offering a monthly dinner night November through April (TBA) that will include some select entrée’s that have been chosen and will be specially prepared by Chef Derrick. Southern Woods will also accommodate private parties or event bookings that you may desire to host from time to time. Additionally, the entire membership has been provided dining privileges at Sugarmill Woods Country Club regardless if you have a Dual Membership classification. Therefore, all future Club newsletters will provide a monthly calendar of events for Southern Woods and Sugarmill Woods in order to better communicate the hours of operation, activities and events that are occurring at each location.
The Club has continued to conservatively operate the Club over the past year. However, due to inflationary items that were mentioned in more detail within last month’s newsletter it’s difficult to avoid a membership dues increase as of January 1, 2009. Following a review of this month’s financials statement, the Company will be better able to determine the amount of increase that is necessary.
My Staff and I anticipate another great year at Southern Woods Golf Club. Please let us know how we may assist you in order to ensure that you have an enjoyable time at the Club.
